Entrepreneurship

To mobilize human, financial and material resources to create, develop and implant businesses.

The definition of the word entrepreneurship describes quite well the actions taken by the "Fonds d'Emprunt des Laurentides (FEL)". Indeed, services offered by "FEL" are all directed toward the support and start up of business. These services get organized under four stages:

1Entreprendre son Projet : En route vers l'autonomie financière

This first stage guides participating women to settle a precise goal towards financial autonomy. These group sessions help women to reach their financial independence through an idea for a business, returning to school or to get back on the labour market. These group sessions address women looking for entrepreneurship as a solution and who want to confirm their choice, or who have no idea for a business.

2The Loan Circles for Women

The Loan Circles for Women are group sessions are oriented on the start up a business. These group sessions are set up as "Stage 2" because they are for women with a clear idea for a business, but have no business plan. The women entering this program learn the stages of starting a business, basic notions in administrations used in everyday life and in their company and how to make a business plan step by step with a dynamic group.

3Loan Funds

The Loan funds is a program of individual coaching offered to everyone. It includes help to improve the business plan, business coaching according to the specific needs of the promoters, preparing for the loan application with the "Fond d'Emprunt des Laurentides" or any other financial institutions. This part of the program is considered Stage 3 because it is for men and women who already began their process of starting a business. These persons have a complete business plan or completed up to 50%, and have specific needs.

4Microcredit

The goal of microcredit is to grant loans to business owners excluded from traditional networks of financing to make their business prosper and reach financial autonomy. It is for men and women who want to get a loan to start a business or to consolidate their project. They must go through the "Fonds d'Emprunt" in order to have access to microcredit.
